Aroma's new state-of-the-art mussel vessel - Kakara
Following a blessing by local iwi and the traditional breaking of a bottle over the bow, Aroma celebrated the launch of their new mussel harvester - Kakara.
The 29.5-metre vessel was designed by Richard McBride of Aimex subsidiary Oceantech NZ to client specifications, built over a 12-month period at Aimex's Port Nelson base.
Aroma has able to begin harvesting within 2 days of the boat arriving in Marlborough. This new state-of-the-art boat has already allowed for some big improvements in efficiency for those on-board.
